Elevate Your Brand with Professional Photography – Behind the Scenes of a Beauty Clinic Photoshoot
In today’s visual-driven world, high-quality photography isn’t just a luxury—it’s a business essential. I recently had the pleasure of working with a modern beauty clinic, providing them with a full suite of professional photography services to support their new website launch and social media strategy. The result? A stunning set of images that elevate their brand and connect more authentically with their audience.
The Power of First Impressions
Your website and social media platforms are often the first touchpoints potential clients have with your business. For this beauty clinic, we focused on capturing clean, elegant, and approachable imagery that reflects the quality and professionalism of their services. From sleek treatment rooms to curated lifestyle shots, every photo was crafted to build trust and make a lasting first impression.
Staff Headshots That Feel Personal
In addition to brand visuals, we photographed all the staff with professional headshots. These weren’t your typical stiff portraits—each image was styled and lit to reflect the clinic’s warm, welcoming vibe while maintaining a polished, consistent look across the team. Clients want to see the people behind the brand, and authentic headshots go a long way in building connection and credibility.
Why Professional Photography Matters for Your Business
Whether you run a clinic, café, tech startup, or creative agency, your visual content should work for you—not against you. Here’s what professional photography brings to the table:
• Brand consistency: Custom images that match your tone, aesthetic, and messaging.
• Website performance: Great photos help keep visitors engaged and improve conversion.
• Social media impact: Standout visuals increase engagement and shareability.
• Team credibility: Cohesive, professional headshots humanize your brand and build trust.

Personal Branding Photography - Environmental Portraits

Lifestyle & Environmental Portraits
1 year ago I photographed Lauren & Kelly who had recently set up L & K Financial Limited. Both really nice ladies who wanted a couple of headshots and a few shots together for their new website and social media. They had tried another photographer who had sadly got the brief wrong, so I got the call. The brief was text book for me, it was the exact type of headshot I do, even down to the grey background!
On to this year, I get another email saying they have taken on a third member of staff who needed a headshot, but they also wanted some ‘in the office’ types shots as well. You could describe this as a personal branding type shoot as it features the people as they are, showing their fun side.
They found a great location, an estate agents over in Oakham. We were allowed to shoot there for the morning, so we got straight into the team in the office shots. We ventured outside as there was a nice bench area, some brilliant looking black shutters and green area. We also used a couple of area’s inside, the bar being my favourite. Yes, this estate agents have a raised bar area!
Take a look at a few of the shots taken during the morning.

I was approached by Tom Bates from Altitude Marketing over in Loughborough a few weeks ago, we discussed me going in for a couple of hours to capture headshots (not typical) and some general office lifestyle images.
I’ve known Tom for a while, he has another business, ‘The Printers’ also over in Loughborough. They have done business cards, workwear and mugs for me in the past. There for all your print needs!
I didn’t know much about ‘Altitude’ so it was nice to go in and mett the whole team so see hoe they work.
The brief for the shoot was keep it light and fun, to show the team as they are.
Take a look at a few of the images from the half day shoot below. There were around 200 images delivered from this shoot.
Lifestyle and Branding Photography Leicester
I love it when a client comes back, it might be for updated headshots.. maybe a new person has joined the team etc.
Northwood Estate agents however wanted some shots around the office, these are called many different things.. Lifestyle, environmental portraits or the new buzz word in the industry, Branding Photography.
To me it’s all the same thing, capturing people doing their thing in the best possible light. Showing the environment in the portrait, with the person captured naturally… no staged poses. This helps show the companies culture, which in turn will attract new clients and future employees.
Here are a few examples from the 1.5 hours I was on site, 130 images were delivered in total.

MDL Fitness Plymouth Shoot
Leicester Commercial Photographer Fitness Brand Shoot
A few weeks ago I was asked back to photography the fitness studio at MDL Marina in Plymouth.
I set of on the Friday, had dinner with Andy from the design team where we discussed the brief and shot list. Having a clear understanding of the images required, and their use is key for me. I can then think about lighting and composition to hopefully achieve the very best results.
As well as gerneral shots of the gym, both empty and fairly full, we also had to shoot every piece of equipment being used my both a model and a Personal Trainer. We set up classes such as spin and yoga, as these are a new offering.
I also took all of my portrait equipment to get some amazing shots of the PT’s.
It’s great working closely with the design team as they have a clear vision of the end product. It might be a local advert in the press. a pull up banner, a webpage or social media campaign. It’s crucial to get the best shots possible in the time on site.
Not only because Plymouth is 4hrs and 240 miles away from Leicester!
Here’s a few images from the shoot.

Why Your Squirrel Profile Pic Won't Fly: The Power of a Pro Headshot on LinkedIn
Pete Martin Photography in discguise
In the bustling online jungle of LinkedIn, your profile picture is your first impression. Sure, you could stick with a blurry selfie of you feeding a squirrel (admittedly cute, but not professional), but why settle for "meh" when you can project confidence and polish with a professional headshot? Here's why it matters:
1. Stand Out From the Nutty Bunch: Let's face it, LinkedIn is crowded. A professional headshot sets you apart from the blurry selfies and vacation snapshots. It shows you take your career seriously and invest in your personal brand.
2. First Impressions Matter (Even in the Digital Jungle): You have mere seconds to capture attention in the online world. A polished headshot conveys competence, approachability, and trustworthiness – all essential qualities for career success.
3. Boost Your Visibility: Research shows profiles with professional headshots get 21 times more views! That means more opportunities to connect, network, and land your dream job. Think of it as LinkedIn catnip for potential employers and collaborators.
4. Build Your Brand, Not Your Weekend Getaway: Your headshot is an extension of your personal brand. It should reflect your professionalism, values, and industry. Ditch the beach pictures and opt for a look that aligns with your career goals.
5. Confidence is Key (and It Shows): Investing in a professional headshot can do wonders for your self-confidence. Feeling polished and put-together translates into your online presence, making you appear more engaged and approachable.
Remember: You don't need to break the bank. Many affordable headshot photographers offer packages to suit your budget. Invest in yourself, ditch the squirrel profile pic, and watch your LinkedIn presence soar!
Bonus Tip: Smile! A genuine smile projects warmth and approachability, making you more inviting to connect with. Now go forth and conquer the LinkedIn jungle with your best professional paw forward!

I first met Jennny Collard from Rutland House Clinic during the COVID-19 pandemic, I was offering socially distanced family photo shoots at local parks and Jenny found me on Instagram. After that we also met online during a LAMP charity online business club meeting, and from their future face to face meetings.
With both of us being LAMP charity supporters we’ve both undertaken various fundraising activities, more about that in a future blog!
Jenny had recently changed her look, and therefor required some updated photos to match. We had a couple of conversations about the overall look of the headshots, and it was also decided that as Jenny works a lot from home, some branding shots would be beneficial to show prospective clients the surroundings.
Also, whilst I was there (and so were all of Jenny’s family), I threw in a couple of family shots as well.
What do you think of the branding and headshots captured on the day?

I had an email enquiry recently from the fine folks at Cresco, https://crescospreaders.com/ they were having a website refresh and wanted staff portraits with the accompanying short bio on each person.
We had a phone call consultation about the shots and decided to use a green background with a slight gradient, so it tied in with their branding colours. They have a great space to set up my mobile studio, a little more was appreciated as to create the gradient an extra light was required, but I’m sure you’ll agree the final shots look brilliant. It was also decided that I’d shoot half body portraits as opposed to tight headshots.
Mobile Studio on Location for amazing portraits and headshots in Leicestershire and the East Midlands
Everyone took direction well and we got the desired friendly & approachable results Cresco wanted to portray.
Have a look t a few of their shots below. Also, how amazing does their website look with the portraits on??!! https://crescospreaders.com/about-us/
So Cresco was shot in the morning, and it was time for GP3 Financial Solutions in the afternoon.
GP3 are based in Oadby and were referred to me by two other companies I’d completed headshots for.
For their s shoot, GP3 requested a slightly off white background and a more close up headshot rather than a half body portrait. I set up in their board room and set to work. Once again, due to everyone taking direction well, and seeing their photos appear in real time on my laptop, we actually finished ahead of schedule.
While i do not like to rush these sessions, I like to keep a pace during the shoot. It keeps the client/subject on their toes and not overthinking it too much. Also, If i finish ahead of time I’m out of the building and not taking anymore valuable time from the clients working day. Everyone wins.
Take a look at a few of the shots and a short BTS (behind the scenes) video clip below.

Commercial Marina Shoot
Photo Shoot for multi service design agency in Leicestershire
MDL Marina Plymouth
A brilliant design agency I work with have MDL Marina’s as their client, they asked if I’d be interested travelling to Plymouth to photograph an Eco Gym at a Marina…. Of course I said yes.
This time a team of five headed down to Devon to capture images of the new site and facilities. The drone went up to get an Ariel view, it was nearly bought down my some crazy seagulls who though it was a play thing! We captured all areas of the gym, and we even got some of the public involved when there were using the equipment.
We stayed over on the Friday night and had a lovely Mexican meal. Saturday morning it was time to shoot the gym manager Helena in action on the equipment having a workout. These were my favourite shots of the weekend, the lighting was brilliant, everything just slotted into place.
The drive home was long, 4.5 hours, but I’m sure you’ll agree the photos captured were worth it!
See below for some of the shots.
Law Firm Headshots on location
Leicestershire Law Firm Headshots. These headshots are ideal to let your clients know who they are speaking or writing an email to. Have them on the meet the team page of your website, put them in the signature of your email etc.
These are also brilliant for press releases. Maybe you have a team member who is having an article published in a local or national magazine… Have the best photo possible!

Law Firm Headshots
One last shoot that was one of my favourites was shooting the team at Michael Hill Partnership, a brilliant Leicester multi service law firm.
One of the reasons I love my job is meeting new people and getting to see the places they work in. MHP are based on London Road in Leicester and occupy a large office space above the old Landsdown pub. It’s deceptive, it looks relatively small from the outside, but it’s huge inside! They had a recently decorated and still empty office for me to set up my small mobile studio equipment, which was nice! Also their new marketing and in house web designer was in, and on hand! After discussing the image format and going over the background colour, it was decided that we would simply just use the freshly painted wall!! And the photos look great!
